More than one thousand pounds of marijuana was confiscated by Border Patrol Agents from the Douglas Station on Tuesday, August 12. The agents noticed a van traveling at a high rate of speed on Rucker Canyon Road. When they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver pulled over and ran into the desert.

The van contained 23 bundles of marijuana. An attempt to locate the driver was not successful. Both the drugs and the van are being turned over to DEA for processing.
