Sells man sentenced for fatal shootingPosted: Updated:
A 41-year old Sells man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. U.S. District Judge John Roll handed down the sentence to Rene Hernandez on Wednesday, September 24.
According to police, Hernandez fatally shot a man in the head on the Tohono O'odham Nation on December 7, 2006. He was arrested later that evening in Tucson by Pima County Sheriff's Deputies for brandishing the same .44 caliber handgun that was used in the shooting.
