Tucson homicide rate at 69Posted: Updated:
Tucson's homicide rate continues to rise, with police responding to their 69th homicide of the year on Sunday, November 9. Last year there were 54 murders for the entire year. Why the increase? No one knows for sure, but we do know that people want the violence to stop.
No one seems to know what's causing Tucson's increase in homicides and violence, but Tucson Police Officer Chuck Rydzak says TPD is doing all they can to control it. "People want results," he says. "They want numbers to go down. Sometimes, realistically we might not be able to do that. There are just some things we can't predict, or some things we can't keep from happening."
