Food stamp application process to be improved

Posted: Updated:

A $665,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be used by United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona to improve the food stamp application process. Currently, less than 40% of the potentially eligible people are enrolled for food stamps in the Tucson and Phoenix urban areas.

The goals for the project are to increase the food stamp participation rate statewide from just under 50% to 65% over the next three years. More information is available by clicking
