Candle Light Vigil will honor murder victimsPosted: Updated:
The National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims will be observed in Tucson with a Candle Light Vigil on Thursday, September 25. The vigil will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Downtown Library's Jacome Plaza at 101 North Stone.
Sponsored by Homicide Survivors, the event provides an opportunity for people to honor the memories of murder victims and to recognize the impact on surviving family members and loved ones. An average of 16,000 people are murdered each year in the U.S., and so far this year 65 people have been killed in Tucson.
