Woman sentenced for violating immigration lawsPosted: Updated:
A 44-year old Sierra Vista woman has been sentenced to two months in prison and one year of house arrest after pleading guilty to harboring illegal aliens for profit, and knowingly hiring at least 10 illegal aliens within a 12-month period. Carol Hill was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and complete 500 hours of community service.
In pleading guilty to the charges, Hill admitted that the 11 workers identified during the inspection continued to work for the company, some for as long as 14 months after the inspection. She also admitted that she engaged in a conspiracy to hire at least 63 illegal aliens and to hide their employment records from ICE agents during the inspection.
