Tucsonans turn out for National Night Out events

Thousands of Tucsonans hoping to prevent crime in their neighborhood turned out for the 25th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5. It's been a rough year for crime so far in Tucson, with the number of homicides and bank robberies nearly equaling last year's totals. With the spike in crime, police say National Night Out is more important than ever, but how effective is the program?

Police say they hope that people will join together and report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods, which they can do by calling 911 or 88-CRIME.
