Man wanted for murder returned to MexicoPosted: Updated:
A 35-year old man wanted for the shooting death of a Mexican Police commander in 2006 has been returned to Mexico by U.S. Marshals to face murder charges. Jose Felix-Cervantes had fled to the United States after allegedly shooting his commander after the two got into an argument while on duty in June of 2006. A fellow officer was also wounded during the shooting, which took place in Hermosillo.
"This is another fine example of the continuing cooperation of U.S. and Mexican officials to bring foreign fugitives to justice," said David Gonzales, U.S. Marshal for the District of Arizona. "We are pleased to be able to return this fugitive back to Mexico, so that he may answer charges there."
