Large stash of marijuana found near ArivacaPosted: Updated:
Border Patrol Agents from the Tucson Sector recovered more than 2,700 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $2.1 million on Tuesday, October 14. The drugs were found in a stolen truck that was discovered in a wash south of Arivaca. The vehicle was covered with a tarp and hidden in the wash, a common tactic used by drug smugglers attempting to conceal large loads of narcotics.
A total of 119 bundles of marijuana were found inside the truck. A search of the area for the driver was unsuccessful. The drugs have been turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the truck has been turned over to the Tucson Police Department.
