The Marana School District has named two Teachers of the Year for 2008. Marana High School teacher Janelle Edmonds and Shela Little from Tortolita Middle School will be honored during the school board meeting on August 28.

Ms. Edmonds has been a World History/Geography teacher at Marana High since 2004. A graduate of Marana High School, she points to the quality of education she received there as one of the reasons why she chose the teaching profession. Ms. Little has been a special education teacher at Tortolita since 1993, and says her philosophy of teaching is based on the belief that all students can learn, and that all students have something to contribute.
