Monsoon fells trees, cuts powerPosted: Updated:
A powerful monsoon slammed much of Tucson on the night of Wednesday, August 13, causing tens of thousands to lose power. Tucson Electric Power crews have been working overtime since then, trying to restore power.
The storm was strong, with some places getting over two inches of rain in a short period of time, including the area by the JCC. Officials say there are still 3,500 customers without power, and they estimate that some of those customers won't get power restored until sometime on Friday, August 15.
