UA student groups to hold food drivePosted: Updated:
The final Bear Down Friday rally of the year on the University of Arizona campus will be transformed into a holiday food drive to benefit the Tucson Community Food Bank. On Friday, December 5, between 4 and 7 p.m., UA student groups and local charitable organizations will set up donation receptacles on the sidewalks along University Boulevard and Park Avenue where people can drop off food and cash donations.
The organizations will be competing for a $500 cash prize if they collect the most food and money for the "Fight Hunger, Fight" drive to benefit the Community Food Bank. Food and cash contributors will be eligible to enter a raffle featuring more than 50 prizes donated by area businesses. In addition, live music will be provided by the reggae/rock band "Hecker."
