Day Of Remembrance observed in TucsonPosted: Updated:
Murder victims across the nation were honored on Thursday, September 25, as part of a National Day of Remembrance. This is the third year the day has been observed, and families of some of the 65 people who have been killed in Tucson this year took part in a local observance.
Hundreds, if not thousands of Tucsonans have gone through what the Varela family is going through. They gathered in front of the downtown library to honor and remember their loved one on the Day of Remembrance. "Murder impacts not just you as a family, but also the entire community," says Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall.
