MESA, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -
Police have identified a Mesa man who died after reportedly shooting his girlfriend and then himself.
Mesa police officers responded to a home near U.S. 60 and Gilbert Road early Saturday and found Eric Anderson Jr., 30, dead and his girlfriend wounded. Officers said the 31-year-old woman was conscious and alert.
The woman is listed in stable condition as she recovers from two gunshot wounds to her left side and arm. Police are not releasing her name at this time.
Police said the couple had been dating for less than a year and were living together at the incident location. They do not have any children together.
Detective Esteban Flores said witnesses reported that Anderson acted paranoid and very jealous throughout their relationship.
Anderson also had threatened suicide just prior to the shooting, Flores said.
