SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Travis Ishikawa hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in the eighth inning as the San Francisco Giants held off a rally to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 last night.
Ishikawa had also scored the tying run in the seventh inning on a wild pitch.
Juan Uribe homered for San Francisco, which bounced back from a 14-inning loss at Colorado on Monday night.
The Giants snapped a three-game losing streak and remained four games behind Colorado in the National League wild card race.
Ishikawa had one extra-base hit in his previous 70 at-bats before his double in the seventh. He connected off Jon Rauch for his ninth homer.
Jeremy Affeldt pitched the eighth inning for the win and Sergio Romo recorded the final out for his second save.
Game 2 of the three-game series is tonight at 7:15.
