Diamondbacks' Mark Reynolds still out with fluPosted: Updated:
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Mark Reynolds has the flu and wasn't at the ballpark for the team's series opener with the San Francisco Giants.
Reynolds received an IV earlier yesterday at a nearby clinic and was feeling much better than during Monday's off day in the Bay Area, which he spent in bed. He has been sick since Sunday, but was getting some food down yesterday.
Manager A.J. Hinch hopes Reynolds will be healthy and strong enough to join the team again today and perhaps be available to pinch hit.
Reynolds is lobbying to play then.
