Unique boutique: where men and women shop together

Fans and Fashionistas boutique, an unexpected adventure - Imagine this scenario --one person (the sports fan) wants to shop for the latest in sports apparel and the other (the fashionista) wants to take a look at the latest in handbags and accessories AND you only want to go to one store! Impossible you say. Not so fast.

Imagine this scenario --one person (the sports fan) wants to shop for the latest in sports apparel and the other (the fashionista) wants to take a look at the latest in handbags and accessories AND you only want to go to one store! Impossible you say. Not so fast.

Just get yourselves over to Fans and Fashionistas near I-17 and Happy Valley Road. It's the most unique boutique I've found in a long time. Let me first describe what's inside and give you a hint of what great items you'll find there.

When you walk into Fans and Fashionistas, half the store is full of authentic, beautiful handbags, jewelry and accessories for women. These are not the wanna-be-bags that you see at discount stores; they're the real deal and some of the most beautiful pieces from the collections. Mixed in are a sampling of women's clothing and lots of fabulous jewelry and accessories.

Then if you look left, you're going to see what looks like a totally different store. On this side, it's the best of fully licensed sports apparel for men, women and kids. And get this, they aren't like most of the stores that sell team wear, they specialize in local AND non-local. So, if you just need that authentic Cowboys jersey - this is where you go. They carry sports apparel from 150 teams! One hundred fifty! You'll find wear for the NFL, the NBA, the NCAA and MLB - all in one store. Other stores carry a limited selection of local teams. I'm telling you, this is your spot for ANY team. Plus they have replica and authentic jerseys for the guys and replica coach's polos and more.

And, as the bit of a girly-girl that I am, one of my pet peeves is women's sportswear that's too boxy and masculine. When I go to a party or a game I want to look cute - and you'll find some blingy and really, really cute women's shirts at Fans and Fashionistas.

Now, to the accessories. You'll find a mix of high-end handbags from designers like Michael Kors, Dooney and Bourke and more. Plus a great selection of more modest lines, yet still wonderful quality by The Sak, Brighton, and a favorite to many - Kathy Van Zeeland. Plus, there's jewelry by Brighton, Crislu and Elle. I say let him shop all he wants over there on the left - there's plenty to look at on the right!! And that's not to mention the fashions in the store from Brown Eyed Girls.

There's so much more, you've just got to check it out.

Here's the scoop - and they have layaway, too. Perfect as we head into gift-giving season.
