Man dies of cardiac arrest seconds after tasing by officerPosted: Updated:
Arizona City - A man died of cardiac arrest while running from police who had just tasered him.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety tells 3TV a DPS officer conducted a traffic stop on a two-door Cadillac sedan traveling on Overfield Road in Arizona City for a traffic violation. It happened on Friday just after 9 p.m.
During questioning, the officer decided 37-year-old T.J. Nance was going to be put under arrest.
The suspect resisted arrest and the deputy tasered the man.
Police say the taser was not successful on the suspect and he continued running until collapsing to the ground. Officers said the suspect had gone into respiratory and cardiac arrest.
Nance received medical aid until he was taken to Casa Grande Regional Hospital. He was pronounced dead just after 10 p.m.
