QUEEN CREEK -- A 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl remain in critical condition after being rushed to the hospital after they were found floating face-down in a backyard swimming pool.
Rescue crews from the Rural Metro Fire Department were called out to a home near Schnepf and Ocotillo roads in Queen Creek at about 6:15 Saturday evening.
It's not clear how long the kids had been in the water.
The brother and sister were air-lifted to Maricopa County Medical Center. One of them reportedly was in full code. They both were still listed in critical condition Monday morning.
Investigators said there was not a fence around the swimming pool.
The parents reportedly were involved in a remodeling project and lost track of the children.
