PHOENIX -- Arizona's unemployment rate rose a half percentage point in July to reach 9.2 percent.
Arizona's biggest job losses are in government, hospitality - Arizona suffered job losses in eight of the 11 major sectors during July with the biggest losses in government and the hospitality industry.
The state's seasonably adjusted unemployment rate remains just below the national jobless rate, which was 9.4 percent in July.

In the past, economic officials in Arizona have said they believe the state's unemployment rate will eventually hit 10 percent.
Arizona saw double-digit unemployment rates during the 1975 and 1982 recessions.
