PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Cliff Lee pitched a two-hitter, carrying a no-hit bid into the sixth inning, and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-1 last night.
Jayson Werth hit a pair of solo homers, Ryan Howard hit a three-run shot and Chase Utley also connected for the National League East-leading Phillies, who've won seven of their last eight.
Philadelphia is a season-high 19 games over .500.
Lee allowed an unearned run and tied a career high with 11 strikeouts to record his 12th career complete game and fifth this season.
The Phillies roughed up Arizona All-Star right-hander Dan Haren, who had his worst outing of the year. Haren allowed a season-high six runs in five innings.
He's given up five or more runs in three of his last four starts.
Philadelphia leads the series 2-0.
The finale is set for 4:05 (Arizona time) this afternoon, with Diamondbacks left-hander Doug Davis scheduled to start against Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton.
