Man robs store while woman is look-out; Both arrested

TEMPE - A man and woman were arrested after a burglary at a convenience store in Tempe.

Police received a call of a burglary in progress at about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning. It happened at a Kwik Mart located at 1806 N. Scottsdale Road. Officers swarmed the store after getting the call and the male suspect ransacked the store and rammed a hole in the back to try to escape the scene after hearing the alarm and realizing the front doors were locked. The female suspect was allegedly waiting outside acting as a look-out.

Witnesses described the suspects were in a larger-style Cadillac. Police made a traffic stop and arrested 45-year-old Brian Robert Kronquist and 47-year-old Cheryl A. Nelesen. Both suspects are Scottsdale residents.

Police seized a small amount of cash. Both of the suspects were taken to Tempe City jail. Nelesen faces third-degree burglary, and possession of stolen property. Kronquist faces third-degree burglary, criminal damage and possession of burglary tools.
