SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- Vandalism at Tombstone High School led to an unexpected day off from school Tuesday for students.

Principal Robert Devere said a teacher arrived early Tuesday and found obscene messages spray-painted on outside walls of the school.

Additionally, someone put glue in classroom door locks. Devere said they were unable to enter a single classroom. Maintenance staff spent several hours Tuesday removing glue from 35 door locks.

Tombstone Marshal Larry Talvy said the vandals struck between 11 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
