PHOENIX -- A Phoenix man was arrested after Prescott Valley police investigators discovered he was having a sexual relationship with a minor.

According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, Christopher John D'Avanzo, 24, and a 14-year-old Prescott Valley girl began texting each other when their numbers were shared with friends.

Investigators say they met in person and the relationship quickly became sexual.

According to police, D'Avanzo had sexual intercourse with the victim on numerous occasions in August.

Police say it was clear that he knew her age when the relationship began.

D'Avanzo was booked at the Yavapai County Jail on five counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
