Wide-open fight for tight end job in ArizonaPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Just about every position is set as the Arizona Cardinals wind down training camp. The tight end though? Not even close.
Five players are vying for the spot with no one distancing himself from the pack so far.
There certainly are no household names among this group -- Anthony Becht, Dominique Byrd, Ben Patrick, Leonard Pope and Stephen Spach.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt says it's a tough battle and he believes that more than one of them will get a chance to play this season. Patrick is ineligible for the first four games because of a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
