Randy Wolf homers for Dodgers in 9-3 win over ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Randy Wolf hit one of the Dodgers' three home runs and pitched seven scoreless innings to lead Los Angeles to a 9-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday.
That snapped a three-game skid for Los Angeles.
Wolf retired 20 consecutive batters after Ryan Roberts singled with one out in the first inning. Arizona rookie second baseman Rusty Ryal broke the streak with his first major league homer leading off the eighth inning.
Los Angeles right fielder Andre Ethier had four hits, finishing a triple short of the cycle, and four RBIs. His three-run homer 10 pitches into the game off Arizona's Yusmeiro Petit gave Wolf an early cushion.
Wolf and Orlando Hudson had two-out, two-run homers in the fourth inning for a 7-0 lead.
The Diamondbacks will play a makeup game in Atlanta this afternoon.
The game was postponed from May 17.
