Man arrested after domestic violence situation, reverse-911 call warned neighborsPosted: Updated:
GILBERT -- A Gilbert man is in custody after a domestic violence situation took s a dramatic turn.
It happened shortly after 7 a.m. in the area of Power and Pecos roads.
According to police, an argument between a couple apparently escalated. The woman fled the home, reportedly heading to a relative's house.
That's when somebody -- at this point, it's not clear if it was the woman or a neighbor -- called 911 and reported that the man had a rifle.
Gilbert police initiated a reverse-911 call to warn neighbors to stay inside their homes and evacuated the home of the woman's relative as a precaution.
Officers later took the man into custody at his home, which is where the original argument reportedly took place.
Investigators are trying to piece together exactly what happened. So far, they have not released the names of anyone involved in the situation.
Details will be updated as they become available.>
