Parents and students leaped into action back in the spring after learning the school was in danger.
The Cave Creek School Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to keep the school open, at least for the time being.
According to the superintendent, there were too many working parts -- reassigning teachers, moving students, changing curriculum and dispersing supplies and libraries -- involved to allow the closure this year.
Teachers and students will return to school at Desert Arroyo next month, but the superintendent could face closure again next year.
