'Mule Pass Fire' prompts evacuations
BISBEE -- A wildfire burning near Bisbee is 100 percent contained, according to the Arizona State Forestry Division.
The Mule Pass fire started late Monday morning and is burning just west of Bisbee and south of Highway 80.
According to Judy Wood with the Arizona State Forestry Division, the fire is approximately 122 acres.
Although the fire received little to no precipitation overnight, Wood said the increased relative humidity, lower temperatures and cloud cover are proving beneficial to the ongoing firefighting efforts.
Highway 80 was closed for a time on Monday and 30 residences were evacuated.
Wood said no structures have been lost or damaged and all residents who had been evacuated were allowed to return to their homes Monday evening.
The fire has been determined to be human caused, but it is still under investigation.
