Sun Devils and Wildcats play non-conference finales while Lumberjacks open Big Sky Conference actionPosted: Updated:
UNDATED (AP) -- Arizona State and Arizona both play their non-conference finales in men's basketball action tonight while Northern Arizona University opens its Big Sky Conference schedule on the road.
The 20th-ranked Sun Devils put their 10-1 record on the line when they host Central Connecticut State, which is 5-5.
ASU made a school-record 17 3-pointers in their last outing, a 90-55 win over Idaho State.
The Sun Devils average a Pac-10 best nine 3-pointers per game. Over 30 regular-season games, that projects to 275 made 3-pointers. The school record of 263 was set during the 1992-93 season.
Arizona stands 8-3 and hosts 6-6 Weber State of the Big Sky.
The Wildcats have won three of their last four games including an 84-67 victory over defending national champion Kansas in their last outing on Dec. 23.
NAU is 3-8 overall this season but winless in seven road games heading into tonight's matchup at Northern Colorado.
Road struggles have been par for the course for the Lumberjacks in recent years and they still went on to win a regular-season conference title, a share of another and advanced to the league tournament final the past three seasons.
