No. 20 Sun Devils on guard for letdown for game against lowly BengalsPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The 20th-ranked Arizona State men's basketball team must ward off a letdown in this afternoon's non-conference game against lowly Idaho State.
The Sun Devils stand 9-1 and are coming off an emotional 76-75 win over BYU last Saturday.
The Bengals come to Tempe with a 2-8 record.
Idaho State of the Big Sky Conference has played one of the country's tougher schedules -- losing to Utah and at Wisconson by slim margins.
ASU coach Herb Sendek says his team must come out and play hard right from the opening tip.
The Sun Devils have rallied from second-half deficits of 16 and 10 points their past two games.
Sophomore guard James Harden is averaging 24.3 points per game -- fifth best in the nation.
Harden also is averaging 14.4 points in the second half, shooting 63 percent from the floor.
