Holiday entertaining quick tipsPosted: Updated:
I love finding just the right touches for my holiday entertaining. And, I love an idea more if it's simple to accomplish AND it scores a compliment or two. The three ideas I showed in the Holiday Show fit the bill perfectly.
So, here are the recipes and product information. Enjoy, embellish and imbibe! And have a most wonderful holiday season!
Super Easy Chocolate Croissants 1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls Approximately 1/3 - 1/2-cup chocolate chips
Unroll the dough and separate it into the triangles. Place about 12 -15 chocolate chips on the bottom third of each croissant. Roll the dough up and around the chocolate chips.
Bake as directed on the tube. For extra fancy touches, top with powdered sugar, frosting or even more chocolate.
Patty Ages Up By Emma Roberts
This cocktail has a wonderful surprise, pepper infused vodka! I thought it was a mistake but it adds such a sophisticated punch you'll be surprised just as I was.
2 ounces Absolut Peppar vodka 1 1/2 ounces Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur 1-ounce peppermint schnapps Crushed peppermint candy canes for glass rims 1-ounce white crme de menthe 2 small peppermint patties
Pour the vodka, white chocolate liqueur and peppermint schnapps into a shaker that is full of ice. Shake until very well chilled, about 1 minute. Rim 2 martini glasses with crushed peppermint (use a lemon or lime wedge to wet the rim and then just dip in the dust.) Strain the cocktail into the glasses. Add 1/2 ounce of crme de menthe to each glass and garnish with a peppermint patty candy.
Glittered Edible Fruit Edible glitter is available at ABC Cake Decorating at 2853 East Indian School. Ask at the counter for the "fairy dust" variety and also purchase a shaker. Other edible glitter is available at craft stores Valleywide in the cake decorating aisles. Glitter can be adhered to foods using clear vanilla extract or lemon juice. Let your imagination soar with this trick and really wow your guests. Grapes, pears, flowers, chocolate - they won't know how you did it!
