TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- A last-second basket kept Arizona State from upsetting 13th-ranked California in women's basketball.
Ashley Walker's layup with 1.8 seconds left lifted the Golden Bears to a 54-53 win over the Sun Devils yesterday in Tempe.
Dymond Simon hit a 3-pointer with 8.7 seconds left to give ASU a 53-52 lead.
But Cal still had time.
Kelsey Adrian missed a layup, but Walker got the loose ball underneath for the game-winner.
Simon's shot capped a 13-2 run over the last 4:52 for the Sun Devils, now 8-6 overall and 0-2 in Pac-10.
Simon finished with 17 points by ASU still lost for the fourth straight time to the Bears, who improved to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
