Student expelled after handgun is found in waistbandPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A Valley high school student has been expelled after a handgun was found at the school.
A spokesperson from the Phoenix Unified School District tells 3TV the incident involves a male sophomore student at Carl Hayden High School.
Another student reportedly notified school officials that the sophomore had a handgun. The principal and security officer at the school contacted the student who had the gun in his waistband and confiscated the handgun, which they say was an unloaded semi-automatic gun.
Phoenix Police are still investigating but 3TV has learned the student involved will face felony chrages and most likely will be expelled from the school district.
