GILA BEND -- The van involved in Sunday's accident on Interstate 8 was a 1999 Ford Van operated by Superior Shuttle and registered to JAAFCA Incorporated out of Mesa.
Thirteen people, including the driver, were in the van when it lost control and rolled over on the right shoulder of the roadway.
Raul Amavizca, 27, of Mexico, died in the wreck.
Next of kin notification is still pending for the other two passengers who died. They are both from Mexico.
The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
NEAR GILA BEND -- Three people were killed and several more were hurt in a single-vehicle wreck on Interstate 8 near milepost 84 Sunday evening.
A commercial 16-passenger van was heading west at about 7:30 p.m., when the driver lost control and rolled onto the right shoulder between Gila Bend and Yuma.
The van was carrying a total of 12 people. Seven helicopters were called out to take the injured to the hospital.
Two people reporteldy suffered minor injuries.
According to the Department of Public Safety, there were no reports of children aboard the van.
DPS has not released the names of any of the victims or the name of the company that owns the van.
Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the wreck.
