Girlfriend attacks boyfriend with knife during dispute

MARICOPA - The following is a press release from the Maricopa Police Department:

On June 30, 2009, just before 1:00 am, Maricopa Police Officers responded to the 45000 block of west Lexington Ave. in the City of Maricopa.There they found a 51 year old male that had sustained a stab wound to his chest as a result of an apparent domestic dispute with his live in girlfriend.The victim was treated at the scene by the Maricopa Fire Department and transported to a Phoenix hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While MPD was conducting the investigation, the suspect, identified as Cindy Coffin, (38) of Maricopa, returned to the residence where she was quickly apprehended by officers.Coffin was questioned about the incident and later booked at the Pinal County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault/ domestic violence.The victim was treated for his wounds and released from the hospital a few hours later.
