Two arrested after fight, stabbing over a cigarette

PHOENIX - Police arrest two men after they get into a fight over a cigarette.

A victim said he was waiting for the bus Friday night at 35th Avenue and Indian School when another guy started hassling him about a cigarette.

Then things got ugly.

"Started rambling and raving, going on and on about how he's being disrespected," the victim said. "Wants to pick up a block of asphalt and hit me with it. Had a work knife on me pulled it out and stabbed him with it."

'Robert' stabbed one of the suspects in the shoulder, that man and his friend are both charged with aggravated assault.

But 'Robert' will not be charged.

Police say it was self defense.
