Police investigate Flagstaff man's death in Juneau creekPosted: Updated:
JUNEAU, Alaska -- Juneau police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old man who fell into a local creek.
Police say a man called 911 shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, screaming that his friend went into the river. He was referring to Chase Brandon Fogelson, who recently moved to Juneau from Flagstaff, Ariz.
Responding officers arrived a few minutes later and found the 21-year-old caller standing in Gold Creek.
The man told officers his friend fell into the creek and he couldn't find him.
Police and Coast Guard personnel found Fogelson, who appeared lifeless and did not respond to resuscitation efforts.
Fogelson was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy will be conducted.
