Late-season monsoon slams Valley with hail, more could be on tapPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A late season monsoon storm hit the Phoenix area Tuesday afternoon, dropping golf-ball size hail on West Valley.
There were near whiteout condition on Interstate 10 in the area of 83rd Avenue, which made for a rough commute for those heading home.
Along with the hail, scattered heavy showers soaked the roadways and caught many drivers off guard.
Winds gusted up to 60 miles an hour in some areas.
More than 1/2 inch of rain was reported in the West Valley.
Unsettled conditions will continue through Wednesday and Thursday, so we might be seeing more of that storm activity.
