PRESCOTT VALLEY - A man is seriously hurt after falling out of a golf cart while a co-worker was at the wheel.
The incident took place on Saturday at about 10:30 p.m. at the Guidance Helicopter business located at Ernest A. Love Field in Prescott.
Paramedics responded to a call reporting someone had fallen out of a golf cart and suffered a severe head injury. Twenty-five-year-old Casey Hubbard was taken to Flagstaff Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition.
Witnesses say 37-year-old Brian Thayer was driving the golf cart while Hubbard rode in the passenger's seat. They also say Hubbard fell out and hit his head on the asphalt.
Police in Prescott say Guidance Helicopter workers were throwing a party for Thayer, who was resigning. He had been drinking alcohol and was impaired at the time of the incident.
Thayer was arrested and taken to the Prescott Police Department for further DUI processing where his alcohol level was said to be at .107. He was cited and released. Further charges could be filed pending the victim's medical condition.
