UPDATE: 3rd arrest in Tempe homicide investigation

UPDATE: Dec. 31, 2008

The following update was sent by the Tempe Police Dept:

TEMPE - On December 30, 2008 at 5:31 pm, the Tempe Police Department's Special Assignment Unit located and arrested Michael Edward Galloway, 29, for his involvement in the murder of Frank Demedio Jr that occurred on December 15, 2008.Galloway was arrested in the area of Standage and University, Mesa.

During the homicide Michael Galloway, Roy Bigelow, and Darren Cooney attempted to collect money from Demedio owed from a drug debt.Galloway served as a look out as Bigelow and Cooney attempted to collect money from Demedio.An altercation ensued which turned fatal as the victim was shot in the chest by Bigelow.

The three suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.Cooney was arrested in Mesa on December 23, 2008 at approximately 3:00 pm.Bigelow was arrested in Mesa as well on December 24, 2008 at approximately 01:55 am.

Galloway is being charged with first degree murder, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, armed robbery and first degree burglary.


TEMPE -- Two suspects have been identified in the homicide of Frank Daniel Demedio Jr.

Roy Bigelow, 46, is a white male, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. Darren Cooney, 42, is a white male, 6 feet tall and 205 pounds. (Suspect photos in slideshow below.)

Police say both men should be considered armed and dangerous and the public is advised not to approach or contact them.
