PHOENIX -- Phoenix police say a man was kidnapped at gunpoint from his place of business near 16th Street and Broadway Road Thursday morning.
Phoenix police Detective Cindy Scott said at least three unknown Hispanic males in two vehicles pulled up to Advantage Imports Limited and contacted a 34-year-old Hispanic man Carlos Hernandez.
It is not known why the victim was outside, but at some point he was observed talking to two of the suspects. This conversation escalated and the victim was forced at gunpoint into one of the vehicles.
The two vehicles were described as a '90s-model green Honda Civic and a '90s-model green Chevrolet Blazer.
Investigators have determined that shots were fired during this incident, but no one at the business was injured.
The motive for the kidnapping has not been determined, but police found packaging material and residue from illegal drugs were found at the business.
Police do believe the victim knew the suspects.
