PHOENIX -- Phoenix police and fire departments investigated a bomb scare at the Phoenix City Court Friday morning.
Bomb threat turns out to be dud
According to the Phoenix Police Department, a man was going through an X-ray machine headed to the MVD office when security personnel noticed a device inside his bag.
The first floor of the Phoenix City Court at Third Avenue and Washington Street was evacuated as a precaution.
According to Phoenix Police Bomb Squad detectives, the item that was found in the backpack was not an explosive device nor was it a hoax device. It was described as PVC pipe containing miscellaneous items.
Officer Luis Samudio said the man that placed the backpack on the X-ray machine was released and no criminal charges will be placed.
