GLENDALE -- Glendale police officers apprehended a suspect involved in a burglary and car theft near 75th Avenue and Bell Road Friday morning.

Glendale police Sgt. Jim Toomey said a man arrived home to find three black men burglarizing his home.

The man scared the suspects off and they fled in a stolen minivan. They then bailed from that vehicle and one of them stole an SUV and led police on a short chase.

That suspect bailed near 79th Avenue and Bell Road. Police took him into custody after a canine partney caught the suspect.

The two other suspects were "long gone," according to Toomey

The 16-year-old suspect in custody sustained a minor bite injury to his hand. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for the bite.

Police intend to book him on a large number of charges including burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and felony flight.

Police are still trying to identify the other two suspects.
