New Cardinal Haggans looking to make impactPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Joining the Arizona Cardinals is the latest turn in a long journey for linebacker Clark Haggans.
The 31-year-old Haggans is expected to provide defensive depth. With 31-1/2 career sacks, he'll be deployed mostly as a pass rusher.
Staying in Pittsburgh wasn't an option for Haggans after he lost his starting job to LaMarr Woodley last season.
Haggans brings playoff experience to Arizona. He's appeared in 11 playoff games with seven starts, including the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victory over Seattle in February 2006.
