Suprise police rescue kidnapping victim, suspect behind barsPosted: Updated:
The following is a news release from the Surprise Police Department.
SURPRISE -- On Sunday, February 22, 2009 at approximately 11:45 pm, Surprise Police responded to a domestic disturbance and kidnapping at an apartment located at the 15300 block of West Young Street, Surprise AZ.
Witnesses on scene reported that the suspect, Ian Marshall, age 27, of Glendale AZ, had kicked in the door and entered the apartment of his ex-girlfriend and removed her from the residence at knife point. Marshall then fled the property in a red Chrysler in an unknown direction of travel.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshall's Office, Surprise Police Detectives located and arrested Ian Marshall at approximately 6:45 am Monday morning at a home located at the 10900 block of West Orangewood, Glendale, Arizona.
The 24 year old female victim was located at the home in good health.
Ian Marshall was charged with Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Burglary and Possession of Marijuana, and then booked into the Maricopa County Fourth Avenue Jail.
