The Phoenix Museum of History will close on June 30 because it does not have enough money to operate.

The president of the museum's board of trustees is calling the closure temporary. According to one official, the plan is to merge the museum with another organization and then re-open.

The city of Phoenix has agrees to cover the museum's electricity and utility bills so that the collections will not be affected during the shutdown.

The closure means several workers will lose their jobs.
