Fiesta Bowl could generate $150M for statePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes will face off in the Fiesta Bowl tonight.
Die-hard fans have been in the Valley all week, and Arizona is reaping the benefits.
Organizers said this year's Fiesta Bowl could generate about $150 million, which is about what the Arizona Cardinals bring in during a regular season.
"People come here not just for sports," said Robert Zaragoza of Just Sports. "They obviously have to eat. They have to stay somewhere. They have to rent a car."
Wile some fans have said they won't spend as much as in past years, they still plan to buy a souvenir to prove they were here.
Kickoff is at 6 p.m., at University of Phoenix Stadium.
