2 Brothers wounded in drive-by shooting, suspect on the loosePosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Two Valley brothers are in the hospital after they were wounded in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting. The suspect is still on the loose.
It happened at about 11 p.m., Thursday near 19th Avenue and Thomas Road. The two young men reportedly were leaving a Circle K store on their way home from a high school football game.
The pair was heading west on Thomas when, for no known reason, somebody in an oncoming truck opened fire.
The car the men were in slammed into a wall when the driver lost control.
The men, both of whom are reportedly in their early 20s, were taken to the hospital.
"One is in serious condition," said Lt. Kim Charrier of the Phoenix Police Department. "He cannot feel anything from the neck down."
That man was shot in the neck.
The suspect, who left the scene in a white truck, is still on the loose.
Police have very few details in the case.
