UA looks at increasing out-of-state studentsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON,-- The University of Arizona likes out-of-state undergraduate students and the higher tuition they pay.
The school's pushing a plan that would allow the state's three public universities to exceed the current cap on how many nonresident undergraduates can come to campus.
That cap currently is 30 percent of the total undergrad population. The UA wants it bumped to 40 percent.
Any new spots given to out-of-state students, however, wouldn't come at the expense of qualified in-state students.
